Sculpture
The sculptures featured are part of my ongoing series, “Afrikanface”, an umbrella term I use that houses many collections or bodies of work under the same theme. Included here are works from installment one, “Afrikanface: Autochthonous Blood & Bone” & installment two, “Shadowkeepers & Roothealers the Original Og’s”. In both I combined Afro-futurist theory by repurposing mixed media findings to create an aesthetic that allowed me to witness Afrikan cultural and spiritual diaspora at the margins, simultaneously channeling past, present and future narratives and images of Blackness.
